Sketchbook Assignments

Sketchbook Rules: 

  1. Please DO NOT tear out pages.
  2. All ideas are good, no crossing them out.
  3. Must keep the sketchbook in the classroom unless you get permission to take it home.  If you lose or forget it, you are responsible for buying a new one.

Sketchbook Assignment Pages:

  1. Always date and write the title at the top of the page.
  2. Fill in the WHOLE page.
  3. Only work on sketchbook assignments during allotted time or after classwork/projects are finished.

You will have 4 sketchbook assignments due each quarter.  You may choose any 4 sketchbook assignments from the attached document.  You may only use a sketchbook assignment once, no repeats!  They do NOT have to be in order as they are listed.

Sculpture Project

Students will learn:

  • about contemporary Pop Artist Romero Britto
  • how to use elements and principles of art to create a sculpture
  • how to engage and persist in craftsmanship in structure design and painting

FOOD Acrylic Painting Project – Yummy!

Students will learn:

  • how to work with acrylic paints
  • about contemporary artists who use food as their subject matter
  • how artwork of food can connect people by sharing interests, cultures and backgrounds
  • how to use scaling, emphasis, balance, texture and contrast in a painting
  • how to use tints, shades and tones to create depth
  • how to engage and persist in craftsmanship in drawing and painting
