Dr. Algeanna Griffin Appointed Interim Superintendent for 2025–2026

The Maywood-Melrose Park-Broadview School District 89 Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Algeanna Griffin as Interim Superintendent for the 2025–2026 school year.

Dr. Griffin brings a wealth of experience and a strong track record of leadership in public education. With a deep commitment to student success, equity, and academic excellence, she is well-positioned to guide the district forward as we continue to prioritize high-quality instruction, student well-being, and community engagement.

Dr. Griffin steps into the role following the conclusion of Dr. Michelle Hassan’s tenure as Superintendent on June 30, 2025. The Board extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Hassan for her dedication and years of service to the D89 community.
