Resources to Prevent Summer Slide

Did you know that children can lose up to three months of academic progress over the summer?  Over 100 years of research continually shows this trend. Here are a few ideas and resources on how you can help your child avoid Summer Slide and instead, create learning gains.

    • Summer Reading Bingo – Our Elementary Schools are having their own summer reading program this summer. You should have received a summer reading packet that included a Bingo Page. Students cross off all the reading activities they have done over the summer and return this to school in the fall. They will be rewarded with PBIS tickets.
  1. Play quick games. Take a look at our Pinterest for inspiration.
