Important Message from District 89

Good morning District 89 families,

The safety of our students and staff is always our main priority when considering closing our schools and district. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for this evening and a Wind Chill Warning for tomorrow, Wednesday, January 30th through Thursday, January 31, with the possibility of wind chill temperatures as low as 50 degrees below zero. Based upon this information we have decided to cancel all after school programs for today, cancel the District Family Night this evening as well as close our schools and facilities tomorrow, Wednesday, January 30thand Thursday, January 31st. At this time we are expecting to be back to school on Friday, February 1st. However, we will continue to monitor the weather and if necessary another communication will be sent out via our normal channels of communication (website, automated call, e-mail). School closing information is also available via the following website: http://www.emergencyclosingcenter.com/complete.html

Please take the necessary precautions during these frigid temperatures.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and support.
